What do you do in your role at Cashplus Bank?

I’m responsible for making sure potential customers can find our website easily when searching for banking services on Google and other search engines. A big part of this is making sure Cashplus Bank is on top of the types of words and phrases that people use when searching for business current accounts, for example. That's called Search engine optimisation, or SEO for short. I also make sure that the website looks good and works well. I write a lot of the content on the site, mainly on our new community page and I’m in charge of our social media handles (Twitter, Facebook & LinkedIn).

What does an average week at work look like for you?

The great thing about working in marketing is that you’re never doing the same thing and there’s always opportunities to work with other teams and learn. Right now, it’s all about building up our written content that helps our customers service their current accounts and credit cards as well as useful articles for business owners and consumers. So, the majority of my week is spent creating new articles, blog posts and social media posts that we can publish online. My role can be quite analytical as well, looking into how well our products are selling day to day and how we’re performing on review sites.

How does your work help our customers?

The work I do helps ensure that our customers and potential customers can easily find the relevant information that they’re searching for. As well as being relevant to customers’ needs, I’d like to think that the content I’m creating is useful and engaging and that when they’ve finished reading it, they can take something away from it.

What do you do for fun outside of work?

I play football twice a week and like to run and keep an (average) level of fitness. When I’m not doing that I’m usually at home working on some music. Music producing is a big hobby of mine and I’m constantly trying to hone my skills.

My friend used to play for the local team I support and they once played Liverpool in Europe, and he gave me his shirt after the game. Sad, I know.
